Spring into humor with Gina Ramsey
Best selling humor author and podcaster Gina Ramsey will visit Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to share Volume II of "Burnt Gloveboxes: Embracing Life When It Goes Up in Flames." Her series takes an Erma Bombeck-style approach to the wild, unexpected setbacks in life.
In addition to a meet and greet, Gina will give a reading from her new book at 11 a.m.
Come enjoy popcorn, cookies and hang out with a truly Superior author.
Author discussion with Luke Leafgren
Luke Leafgren, a 1997 graduate of Superior High School, will tell the story of his career in literary translation and introduce his recent project, "The Tale of a Wall," a creative memoir by a Palestinian who has been in prison in Israel since 1993. Copies of the book, which was long listed for the 2024 National Book Award, will be available for purchase and signing.

Superior author Jeff Esterholm will be signing copies of his book, "The Effects of Urban Renewal on Mid-Century America and Other Crime Stories." The book received an outstanding achievement award in 2024 from the Wisconsin Library Association.

Join city officials as we celebrate Arbor Day in Superior. There will be a reading of "The Giving Tree" by Shell Silverstein, followed by giveaways and discussion. Snacks provided. Everyone is welcome.
Independent Bookstore Day
Your Superior bookstore is joining in a Twin Ports-wide event with other independent booksellers. We'll have a Twin Ports passport filled with savings and discounts, as well as a chance to win free prizes.

Poetry reading/author signing with Julie Gard and Shelley Getten
Join Shelley Getten (Of Cows and Crows) and Julie Gard (I Think I Know You) as they read from their recently published books and new work at the first poetry reading event at Foxes and Fireflies.
In her collection, Gard attempts to map out, complicate, and bridge divides, concluding that a sense of belonging, and a shared sense of home, may be the most important thing we have to offer each other.
Getten evokes 10 years of life on a hardscrabble farm in Central Minnesota as seen through the eyes of a young girl.
Discussion and signing will follow reading.

Local author Rachel Gilbertson will be visiting the store from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to sign copies of "Aligned Enchantment," her 100-day self-reflection journal. Each page features a word of the day, reflection and writing prompts.

Kiki Garcia book reading, kids crafts
Local author Kiki Garcia will be visiting Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers for a reading and author signing of her children's book, "Fishing by Torchlight." The 9-year-old is a member of Mashkiiziibii, the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Ojibwe and enjoys the responsibility of teaching others about Ojibwe culture and language.
Following the reading, there will be crafts and snacks for youngsters, as well as a chance to talk to Kiki about the experience of writing and publishing a book.

Madilynn Jewell Powers book signing
Superior author Madilynn Jewell Powers will be signing copies of her new book, “A Tale of Two Willows,” from 1-3 p.m. Feb. 1 at Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers. This is the second in her “Willows” series. The first, “The Rise of a Willow,” was released in June. The author is 16 years old and attends Superior High School. Young writers are invited to stop by during the event with questions for the author.
DOT pop up on Blatnik Bridge
The Wisconsin DOT will hold a pop up community information session in the conference room next to Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15. Bring your questions about the upcoming Blatnik Bridge replacement project. Snacks will be provided.

Author Don Johnson launches new book
Superior author Don Johnson will be signing copies of his newest book, “Cripple Charlie,” from 1-3 p.m. at Foxes & Fireflies Booksellers. Part fact and part fiction, the new book continues the family history Johnson began in “To Svarta and Beyond.”
